Not every player can be a one-club man and take their talents on what could be described as a world tour. Today we are looking at 10 of the biggest and best journeymen in football.

Freddy Adu - Tipped for big things at a young age, Freddy Adu’s career sadly never reached the heights many predicted. Freddy played for 15 clubs in total which included Benfica, Monaco, DC United & Bahia. Now 34 & without a club, he hasn’t officially retired from playing.

Drewe Broughton - The striker played for 21 clubs during his 16-year career. He made less than ten appearances for 12 of these teams. Broughton played his whole career in England for the likes of Peterborough, Lincoln, MK Dons & Rotherham. He scored 83 goals in 459 games.

Lutz Pfannenstiel - German goalkeeper Lutz Pfannenstiel was the first player to play professional football on six continents. His travels brought him to England with Wimbledon & Forest but he failed to make an appearance for either club. He represented 25 clubs in total.

Samuel Eto’o - Starting his career at Real Madrid, Samuel Eto’o is classed as the best-ever African striker. He scored goals for Barcelona, Inter Milan and Mallorca. Over 22 years he played for 13 clubs he scored 293 goals in 587 games. He only blanked for Madrid and Espanyol.

Jefferson Louis - Over a 24-year career, Jefferson Louis played for 38 clubs, all of which were in England. The most appearances he made for one club was 55 games for Oxford United between 2002-2004. One of which was a 2-0 loss against Arsenal in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Nicolas Anelka - Nicknamed ‘Le Sulk’, Nicolas Anelka was undoubtedly a brilliant striker. Playing for 12 clubs in his career, he represented some of the biggest in the world. These included PSG, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City. He scored 157 goals in 508 games.

Andy Cole - Andy Cole is the fourth-highest all-time Premier League goalscorer & played for 13 clubs between 1989-2008. He scored a total of 229 goals for the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Fulham. Only ONE goal was a penalty. Outstanding.

Trevor Benjamin - Starting his career at Cambridge United, the Jamaican forward would go on to represent 29 clubs. Playing in the Premier League with Leicester to a short stint in Australia with Sunshine George Cross, Benjamin would also take the field for Palace & West Brom.

Rivaldo - Ballon D’or and World Cup winner Rivaldo is best known for his extraordinary spell at Barcelona between 1997-2002, but he played for 14 clubs over 4 continents. From an early prolific loan with Corinthians to a season with Milan, Rivaldo scored 249 goals in 553 games.
